The Supreme Courtroom bench, headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan, will hear the switch petition filed by CBI within the 2017 ‘pretend‘ intercourse CD case, involving Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and 4 others, within the second week of February.
The CBI had registered a case towards Bhupesh Baghel, then state Congress president on a criticism alleging that he, together with 4 others, tried to border then state BJP chief Rajesh Munat in a ‘pretend‘ intercourse CD case.
The Supreme Courtroom had on October 21, 2019, stayed the continuing trial of Particular Judicial Justice of the Peace (CBI) after SGI Tushar Mehta, showing for CBI, submitted that witnesses within the case had been feeling threatened by the chief minister.
In the course of the listening to, Tushar Mehta, showing for CBI, stated, “It is a case the place witnesses are being threatened. The accused is any person who’s the chief minister of the state.”
“Some witnesses are from Delhi, some from Mumbai and a few from different locations. We need to switch the investigation to anywhere aside from Chhattisgarh.” SG submitted.
The courtroom will now hear the matter in second week of February for the ultimate disposal.
